Description

This ladies vintage 2 piece dress set from the 1980s is pre-owned, in very good condition, with the size and fabric tags attached. The dress is a sleeveless pull on over the head style with a round neck line that has been outlined with a strip of black fabric sewn all the way around it. The arm holes are also trimmed with the black fabric. It is a straight body con dress that rests below the knees. The fabric of the black dress is stretchy with approximately 1 1/2" of stretch in it. The over shirt has a black background with a large floral pattern of black, white and ivory. It has loose 3/4 length dropped sleeves with a narrow pointed collar. There is a horizontal seam across the chest that it outlined in white stitching. The shirt buttons up the front with 8 white plastic buttons. It has a curved hem. There is no stretch in the fabric of the over shirt. The brand name is Stephen J. It was made in Canada. The floral over shirt is 100% cotton. The black dress is 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend. The over shirt is VINTAGE Size 11/12 and the black dress is VINTAGE Size 9/10 and will fit a MODERN Small to Medium best. The measurements for the black dress, laid flat and NOT stretched, are: Waist: 14" - double for 28" waist measurement Chest: 16" - double for 32" Hips: 14 3/4" - double for 29 1/2" Shoulder to Shoulder: 10 1/2" Shoulder to Hem: 43" Under Arm to Hem: 35 1/2" Width at the Hem: 17" The measurements for the over shirt, while laid flat, are: Waist: 21 3/4" - double for 43 1/2" Chest: 22 1/2" - double for 45" Hips: 21 3/4" - double for 43 1/2" Shoulder to Shoulder: 25" Shoulder to FRONT Hem: 38 3/8" Shoulder to SIDE Hem: 35 1/4" Sleeves: 16" Pocket: 5 5/8" wide by 6 7/8" long Buyers please note that there are a couple of dust/storage marks on the front of the over shirt. They are not noticeable until close inspection. I think they may come out once the shirt has been cleaned. AND them hem of the black dress needs to be sewn again. However, this is an easy fix because the original pressed hem is still visible. I have tried to show this in the pictures.
