DAMON'S CHAMPIONSHIP. RARE COMBINATION OF TICKET WITH SHARP SEAT RESERVATION TICKET . Last race of the 1996 season and the race where Damon Hill finally clinched his world championship with the late and great Murray Walker famously overcome by emotion whilst commentating with, as Hill crossed the line, Murray uttering the words " I've got to stop now, because I've got a lump in my throat ". Damon matched his father's achievement in winning the world championship, the first father and son to do so in Formula 1 history. Hill had entered the last race as the most likely winner and ironically it was his team mate and another son of a famous driver, Jacques Villeneuve son of Gilles, who was the only challenger who could have stopped Hill. Villeneuve started on pole but made a poor start and later dropped out on lap 36, leaving Hill to lead from the 1st to the 52nd lap. Villeneuve who had been "rookie of the year" would get his title in 1997 and Hill would share the Suzuka podium with past and future champions Michael Schumacher (as reigning champion from 1994 and 1995 but now in his first season with Ferrari) and Mika Hakkinen in the McLaren Mercedes (world champion in 1998 and 1999). Race Podium: Damon Hill 1st, Michael Schumacher 2nd, Mika Hakkinen 3rd. The 1996 Programme is listed separately. Postage by airmail is now possible to most countries again. North America, Australasia, Europe, and the UK are all generally fine. Brazil and Italy are now possible again.
