Description

THIS KIT IS THE ORIGINAL! EVERY OTHER KIT ON EBAY IS A CHEAP CHINESE COPY!! This is the highest quality , most complete repair kit available. This kit repairs one (1) headlight motor left or right side. If you need to repair both headlights, then please select a quantity of two (2) items. You will receive a volume discount for two or more items. Anyone who knows auto parts knows that as our cars age the quality of replacement parts declines especially after ten years. The original equipment headlight motors are the best quality you will ever find therefore, rebuilding your original motors with OE quality or better parts is the best solution to solve your headlight problems. Why would anyone want to put a cheap Chinese aftermarket headlight motor in their American made classic car?? FITS THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES: 1993-2002 Pontiac Firebird & Trans Am (all models) 1991-1996 Saturn SC and SL (all models) 1992-1994 Pontiac Sunbird (with concealed headlights) Kit includes: 1- P remium quality CNC machined brass gear. 1- OEM quality rubber bumper gear insert. 1- Thrust washer/spacer. 1- Tube of easy to apply super-fast drying glue that is much stronger than the messy two-part epoxy sold by some. 1- T-brace kit with plastic output shaft bearing ( This bolts on with the motor to Re-enforce the glued-on side cover). 1- Easy to apply blister packs of synthetic gear grease (with Teflon) that won't melt and foul the brushes. 1- Rubber band to hold side cover as glue dries. not shown (temporary use). 1- Hard copy of detailed instructions specific to 1993-2002 Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am SYMTOMS OF GEAR FAILURE: 1. The headlight motor runs for several seconds but does not open the headlight. 2. The headlight only opens partially or droops after it has opened. 3. The headlight opens and closes but the motor continues to run with a loud grinding noise. Most headlight motors fail because of the plastic gears that GM put in these motors. The electrical part of the motor typically does not fail. I have also seen a lot of gear failures with the cheap undersized aftermarket plastic gears sold by others. Unlike other low-quality plastic and brass kits, this kit contains all of the parts and lubricants needed to do it right the first time! This brass gear kit will last the lifetime of your car so you will never need to rebuild again due to a bad gear. This heavy-duty brass gear will never break or sheer teeth like the OEM plastic gears, and even lower quality aftermarket plastic gears being sold, and they will not bind up your motor like some of the low-quality brass and aluminum gears sold by others. IMPORTANT! Be sure to check your bump stop insulators on the base of your headlight as shown in the pictures. They are often worn, broken, or missing. Missing bump stops can cause the headlight linkages to skip past the stops which causes all kinds of issues including the headlight opening up partially before shutting off. I have bump stops available in my eBay store at the link below. Add the desired quantity to your cart along with the gear kit for combined shipping. If you add multiple items to your cart and the shipping seems high, you can click "request a total from seller" and I will make adjustments to actual shipping costs. carguy8t8 | eBay Stores If this kit does not solve your issue or you run into trouble feel free to contact me through eBay messages, and I will be happy to answer your questions or I can also apply the cost of this kit towards my rebuild service if you are unable to do the repair. NO OTHER SELLERS ON EBAY CAN OFFER THIS KIND OF SERVICE! We have been selling rebuilt headlight motors and these do it yourself repair kits here on eBay since 2010, longer than anyone else on eBay and with much better customer service and higher feedback ratings. You CANNOT buy this high-quality kit anywhere else but here! SHAMELESS RANT: This cost saving repair kit was designed and engineered by an American small business entrepreneur and was so successful that big Chinese business took notice and decided to copy it. These businesses are now shipping from the USA but are actually just funneling cheap, low quality auto parts direct from China. If you read their descriptions, you will quickly discover they have very little understanding of what they are selling, and their feedback has many complaints about low quality, poor customer service, and slow shipping. They cannot answer questions because they have no actual knowledge of the product and no idea how to rebuild a headlight motor. This means no instructions, and no idea of the quality standards required when manufacturing these kits. Through my rebuild service, I have received motors from customers who installed these Chinese gears (brass & aluminum) and had issues. I had to toss them in the trash due to improper machining which causes excessive noise and binding issues causing the motor and headlight to get stuck in the open and closed positions. Now that's going to be annoying when you have to open the hood to raise or lower the headlights!! We have been selling our premium quality kits here on eBay since 2010 with thousands of happy customers and always maintain a near 100% positive feedback rating due to high customer satisfaction and excellent customer service you can only get from American small business. Buying kits with carguy8t8 as the seller ensures that you will receive the original high-quality repair kit from a knowledgeable classic car enthusiast and American owned and operated small business. After all, who would want to put cheap, low-quality Chinese auto parts in their American made classic car?? Please be aware: Several customers have had issues because they watched DIY YouTube videos with people likely doing this job for the first time and pretending to be experts. Every one of these DIY videos I have watched has misinformation that can cause issues. From a guy using an impact driver to tighten the tiny little bolts on the gear case that often seize and break (C4 motors), to a guy who puts the thrust washers on the outside of the case to another guy who puts the snap in T-brace bearing inside the gear case with the gear (C5 kit)! What a disaster!! These videos may be helpful to give an overall sense of how to do the job, but you will save yourself some headaches if you purchase this kit and follow the detailed instructions that are included. Thank you for your business!
